The Latest Information on Packet Radio In NW Arkansas
The Northwest Arkanas area has several packet nodes and systems running 24 hours a day. There are nodes in Rose and Little Kansas, Oklahoma: Prairie Grove, and Huntsville in NW Arkansas. There are BBS's in Fayetteville. Several DX cluster sites can be found including Fayetteville, Ft. Smith and in the Tulsa, Oklahoma area. TCP/IP networks exist here as well. Information on each of these systems is located in the following sections of this page.

NORTHWEST ARKANSAS PACKET NODES:
Packet operations are very prominent in the area with TEXNET, APRS, TCP/IP, DX PACKET CLUSTER, and BBS systems running twenty-four hours a day. Prominent nodes are:
1. FAYBBS (also the LRSBBS) 145.61 NW ARK MSYS BBS (K5LRS Sysop)(Off the air for repairs)
2. HOG 145.61 X1J4 and TheNet Node (connects to K5LRS MSYS BBS)
3. NWAR51 145.51 X1J4 TCP/IP Router Node. (Prairie Grove AR) (Off the Air for repairs)
4. AROK51 145.51 X1J4 TCP/IP Router Node. (Rose, OK)
5. K5HOG 145.65 DX Cluster Node
6. W5NX 145.65 DX Cluster Users Connect Node Fayetteville, AR. Use only if unable to connect via K5HOG.
7. FAY 145.69 TheNet and TEXNET Node (Lincoln AR)
8. K5LRS-10 145.510 FBB BBS system 1200 Baud Node and Informational BBS System
9. GRDA 144.39 APRS Node when it gets back up.
10. NWAR61 145.61 X1J4 Router and FAYBBS Forwarding node. Can be used by BBS users. (Huntsville, AR)
NWAR51 connects Ft.Smith, Russellville, Conway and related areas to the Fayetteville/Springdale/Rogers areas.
AROK51 connects Ft. Smith, Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, etc, to Eastern Oklahoma, Southeast Kansas, and Southwest Missouri.
NWAR61 connects the eastern side of Washington County and Madison County to the FAYBBS MSYS BBS System and is a forwarding node from N0KFQ in Branson, Missouri, to FAYBBS in Fayetteville, AR. Also, and X1J4 node.

System Update
The following systems are either down because of equipment failure or for upgrades:
GRDA - Little Kansas OK - Receiver problems. Currently on bench being repaired. Expected to be back up in a month or so, but as a APRS site on 144.39 MHZ.
NWAR61 - Hunstville AR - Down due to loss of tower site. New tower has been located and will be installed shortly. Node site will be back up as soon as that happens.
NWAR51 - Blue Mountain- Was down due to pin connection problem, but back on the air now.
AROK51 - Rose OK - Off line do to power supply problem. Hope to have it back on air shortly.
HOG - Prairie Grove AR - On line and working fine.
LRSBBS - Fayetteville AR - On line and available to all packet operators.The LRSBBS is currently off the air due to a computer programming problem. Will let everyone know when it is back up and working.
LRSDXC - Fayetteville AR - Off line due to loss of static IP. Will be back on line as soon as new IP is found.
